A further muse on the C-19 conversation. (hopefully the C-19 is a type that will steer well clear of EGLK unless it happen to be an Avro C19, of course...)
The new tracing App is under trial on the IoW but for reasons generated by subversive thinking it is already flying under clouds of suspicion. Suggestions of "Government spying", "our privacy is under threat", "They" will be watching us, and assorted conspiracy theories no doubt to back-up the convoluted reasoning of those who do not wish to join the fight against the virus.. No doubt the very same folk who happily indulge in social media sites, eg Facebook, and willingly submit a full account of their being..personal details, location, a massive collection of photographs of self and associates including the family pets, details of all their friends and also a run down of their online activity wherever that may lead.
Could one make it up? Despite the warnings of contagion sections of the population continue to amass in some pubic parks, increasingly, yes I think you could make it up as we progress through the great Pandemic of 2020.
Please stay "alert"...

French ministers reject ‘lovers’ amendment’ and rule out easing long-distance travel restrictions for couples
Couples in France who live far from each other will be forced to remain apart under coronavirus restrictions after French ministers rejected a proposed change to the law which would have allowed long-distance travel for the reason of “love”, Conrad Duncan reports.
Mireille Clapot, a member of the ruling centrist party LREM, suggested love should be added to a list of acceptable reasons for people to travel more than 100km (60 miles) from home when lockdown restrictions are eased on Monday.
Ms Clapot’s proposal, which she referred to as a “lovers’ amendment”, was rejected during a debate on legislation in the French parliament this week.

Sacre bleu, zee Fronch are are coming by avion sans quarantine à l'arrivée en angleterre... Maybe they seek love 'ere as Rocky14's post suggests it is this they are deprived of across the Channel?
Judging by the Covid curve rising in Germany following "easing", the confusion here of being told you can go back to work, but not on public transport, and the airlines about to feel the hangman's noose slide around their beautifully aerodynamic noses as HMG invents quarantine while the ship has already left the harbour, one has to question as to Boris's easement plan... Would it perhaps been better had he stayed within quarters and opened another bottle of Chateau Latour Pauillac Premier instead? A little longer for the nation's disease curve to continue its downward trend might have been prudent?
The future is about as clear as the approach to a 1950's fog shrouded London Airport. The solution then was divert to Blackbushe, not so simple this time...especially with our devolved friends playing their differences, "non politically" as Ms Sturgeon would have us believe..

I'm starting to think that maybe Boris is starting to lose the plot a bit,we are going to quarantine people flying in to the U.K but not from France,so is the virus different over there then?

..whatever it might be, are we all feeling much clearer today whilst remaining "alert"??
After weeks of unfettered air transport movements into the UK as passengers passed freely into England's green and pleasant land are we are NOW about to apply the coup de grace to our air transport industry..
The quality of judgement is not unstrained..
..as a nation dependent on the benefits of air transport for millions of staff and their families, passengers, vital air cargo and our now wavering GDP are we finally severing the mooring ropes by throwing all inbound passengers (except mates deals with France and the Republic of Ireland where apparently there is no Covid concern) into quarantine or even into "Government provided" accommodation if necessary, hundreds of thousands of staff to the dogs, and hope out of the window??
Can somebody tell me, please....

...there is fear of failure, there is fear of friendly fire, there is fear of seeing the knife point popping out the chest, there is fear of the unknown, there is fear of the polls, there is fear of being blamed.....and it goes on and on and on to the point of politicisation of 'independent' scientific advice.
I am as confused about the present advice and decisions as you PB. At a social distance, I'm out on me bike this afternoon for some 'fresh air', might even see one or two others on their bikes too. One thing for sure I will be needing a new undercarriage soon!
Where there is hope let us bring despair - the new mantra!

You, dear Rocky14, are already a step ahead of me, or should I say a cycle ahead of me - I no longer have a bike although is it possible to get a Government grant toward such a weapon so as I too can propel myself into the future without totally destroying the planet along the way? Fearing untoward and unexpected releases of methane as a consequence of cycling the environment might prefer I stick to four wheels... Maybe independent scientific advice is due?
I'm glad to have at least one cohort in confusion. Sadly both my parents are no longer with us, the painful requirement to select one for a future meeting in a park is thus alleviated although why a park is preferential to my freshly mowed sweeping lawns adds simply to my confusion. Such a meeting would be fine on Wednesday, but frowned on today..
Unlimited exercise is a welcome break, no doubt the Rockycycle will be given an extra long workout before we're too much older. (I don't want to be too much older, but the alternative is even less welcome so I'll stick with the programme). I will continue my periodic timed ten minutes circuits around the back garden, navigation gets easier as I just need to follow the worn trail..
Public transport is now running the conundrum service. The train will be stopping at your station which is great if you're a city slicker ready for the City, but you're advised to not go on the train when it arrives. It's only 40 miles to the City, looks like a lot of very fit cycling city workers will be in the making and the bike sheds at the station will have plenty of empty space to offer. Getting to work will be a relief for some providing they do not have to route through Casualty on the way...
Funnily enough in conversation with my exceedingly better half just now I said in jest, "I bet there's an Alitalia flight from Rome approaching Heathrow if I plug in Planefinder". Yepp, there she was just skimming over Isleworth. I recall an edition of POTD some weeks ago whereby I questioned the Covid count in Italy and the high frequency of aeroplanes landing at Heathrow having just come from FCO..
We can but tune into the Government briefings and eagerly watch for our hoped descent down the new five point scale. 5 is fatal, Covid wins, we're currently shown in position 4. There's hope at the end of the scale providing insanity does not prove a greater problem than the virus. I make no promises from this end..
We no longer have to stay at home EVEN if you're 70+. Those of us in the dark zone over 70 who have so far survived the lockdown challenge, found food, and even remained fit can now venture forth providing at all times we remain "alert". The ruling is despite being able to go out one should stay at home unless one is driving to the borders of England and one of our devolved nations for some exercise - providing you can return to base before nightfall when heaven knows what might happen. Perhaps I might even see the Elon Musk satellite chain fly over, to date they have proven elusive even when the skies have been CAVOK.. and yes the eyes are excellent so can't blame them.
Obviously I have too much time on my hands. Time for the 5pm briefing direct from Number 10.....
Stay alert.. PB
