Couple of positive steps today toward a possible G-APSA return, but many steps still to be made..
Some DC-6 music and sights, what might have been if corrosion hadn't taken a hold; However, a silent DC-6 is better than a totally dead one - one in Eagle colours that would tell the story of days long gone?
A way to go yet, but not giving up!

<<Couple of positive steps today toward a possible G-APSA return>>
Any chance of revealing the steps Peter, or is everything cloaked in secrecy?

I've read reports that the 'DC 6' restaurant at Coventry Airport is permanentely closed; would this be 'SA or is it another DC 6?

The diner is (or was) G-SIXC.
If that is closed, then Peter may have 2 DC.6s to rescue...!!!
(it’s ok Peter, that’s a joke! It would be amazing to see one back at Blackbushe!)

There is only one aeroplane so far as I'm aware, and it's not the XC diner version that one has eyes on... Bit of a nail biting waiting game until feedback from various parties in the field is to hand. I can say that so far as I'm concerned there's no secrecy surrounding the project, you'll be kept abreast of significant progress - if any - in the next week, or so.
Prestige Signs have agreed to provide accurate logos and insignia for the aircraft in the event of it arriving back home. Also today, the Blackbushe Airport management have agreed to provide a home for the aircraft. Two very welcome offers that makes the project that much more viable if we get her back home. The tasks ahead are not for the faint hearted..no more to be said at this stage, it could easily not happen... so please do NOT get over excited, it's not good for your blood pressure - or mine! When there is more definitive news I'll update this thread further.

In view of above can we assume that the rumour I have just heard that she is going to Lasham not the Bushe is wrong ? Lasham has a big hangar in which she could be snug and warm and Dan Air had connections with Lasham many years ago.

That's an interesting one! Could you tell us more of the rumour and its source please? If somebody is dealing behind our backs so be it.. I can resume the pleasantries of retirement! Would appreciate any info you are able to pass on..

Lasham has a big hangar in which she could be snug and warm and Dan Air had connections with Lasham many years ago. All the old Dan-Air hangars are in high demand and constant use. I very much doubt 2Excel would want it anywhere near them, space for airliners is already tight.
