I had one flight in a 1-11, a package holiday flight to Bucharest in 1993. Return flight was on a Tu-154B.

One unusual trip I did in a BAC 1-11 was in Farnborough's XX919 when we flew to Benbecula, (an airfield in the Hebrides not habitually visited by the type) and back. On another occasion we delivered an Andover to Cranfield and were picked up from there to return to Farnborough, both of these being rather unique airfields to be visited by the type. I think the last 1-ll to fly was wfu in Africa in 2019.I've seen plenty, but never had the pleasure! Boscombe had at least five at one time. Looking back I recall seeing Aer Lingus EI-ANH on G1E on 3 November 1965. WGAF Noratlas' GA 101/104/119/240/242/254 were also eastbound the same freezing afternoon. Could you expand a little on the Astazou rpm settings; 30% start and taxi; 100% for flight, please.

The 75th was a great event as was the one the year before. Volunteering for those was very rewarding. I enjoyed myself enormously and met several forum members. I was on gate duties in 2016! A general duties person in 2017.

I'm not an engine expert but the engine control unit feeds more or less fuel and varies the prop pitch in order to produce more or less power whilst keeping rpm constant but I should check with an expert before you quote that as i could well be talking bollocks.

No problem chevvron. I enjoy your anecdotes, they take me back in time. Very nostalgic. Thanks.😏

Talking of mass gatherings we have a Massive Attack gig taking place on the Downs in Bristol this Sunday. All nearby roads, including ours, are closed. Passengers in aircraft destined for and departing from EGGD will get splendid views of the event.
I remember the Dylon do!

Talking of Dylan, hard rains etc.and the stupendous efforts of the few in the early days of the WW2, my grandfather was killed by the V2 that visited Woolworths in New Cross on 25 November 1944.

Another non EGLK fact PB: light travels at approx 186,000 miles per second, give or take a black hole or two.
