Having just spent some weeks in Frimley Park, I wonder if anyone knows anything about the helicopter traffic ? I could only see a tiny bit of sky and no traffic but it sounded like a few machines came in ? Didnt people come at one time into the Bushe by fixed wing and go on to Frimley ? I think spotters used to be unpopular for taking pix ? Is there a frequency ? As probably PBs oldest reader might I wish him well him in his quest for a new Bushe to rise Phoenix like from the current sad mess. How about standing for Hart Council Peter ? If you cant beat them join them. John Hutty aka Poswolf

Hello John aka Poswolf..
Good to have you back in the circuit, hope you are well after spending time in Frimley Park. An excellent hospital.
Can't help you much with the air traffic details, maybe another can??
With regard to Hart, appreciate the idea of my standing for Hart RDC, but so far as Hart are concerned the relationship and support for Blackbushe is in good shape. The owners of Blackbushe and holders of the future plans will be taking the Blackbushe issue to higher places following Hampshire County's apparent inability to make decisions themselves..
The All Party Parliamentary Group on General Aviation have very recently appointed a " general aviation champion", the Government's first time GA champion. At last the GA subject should earn the respect it deserves. Membership of the APPG on GA has now reached 115 parliamentarians, the body has indeed got a voice... For now we resort to patience as Government decision making is not expected to be rapid, but at least we have some power behind the reins.
Wishing you a speedy recovery kind Sir..
As ever Peter

b170 Peter, would this John Hutty be any relation to Jerry Hutty or Gerry, that worked for Silver City during the fifties, he used to ride a greaves motor cycle with a 250CC British Anzanni two stroke engine and he worked for the instrument department at Blackbushe. Bob Carter

Hi Bob.. I honestly don't know, perhaps we could leave your question open for when John, aka poswolf, sees it?
Hope all OK with you, and the Freighter model damaged at the 75th has found a new tail wheel?
Let me know when you're at EGLK, we can catch up over a Bushe coffee...
Best wishes Peter

answerimg above, I 'm afraid I am no relation to the previous Hutty mentioned. As far as I know anyway. I had no commection to the Bushe until my family moved to the area in 1970 except for one spotting trip from distant Herts around 1957. I can remember the Hermes lined up on apparently the wrong side of the road. John Hutty

Initially it was on the rugby field the other side of the motorway or if it was a smallish heli, it would use the grounds of the Cadet Centre next door but in the latest re-build about 10 years ago, a purpose built pad was built at the hospital. It's on the roof of the newish bit between the car park and the original main building and can be seen on satellite photos.

Thank you Poswolf. The fact that you remember the Hermes parked on the "wrong side" of the A30 qualifies you for life membership of the Blackbushe Forum!
Thanks b170. Look forward to seeing you over a coffee, Aerobility will be delighted with your books!!
Thanks Chevvron. I've arrived at Frimley Park with blue lights & sirens, but not by helicopter as yet. No plans to do either in future....

Of course, the helicopters heard by poswolf may not have been ambulance helicopters. Frimley Park Hospital is just south of the M3 motorway and this is used by helicopters as a visual route (known as H3) to/from central London especially the bit between roughly J4a and Thorpe, so he could have been hearing helicopters using this route. If you don't live near to the M3 (I'm about half a mile from it near Chobham and get a splendid view of traffic from my back garden) you won't be used to the number of helicopters using this route which is used 24 hours a day - I was out killing slugs at 4am one night last summer and a pair of Chinooks travelled westbound along H3 surprisingly quietly (for Chinooks).

Hi you could be right but I wonder if they would have been popular apparently flying near a hospital if not visiting ?
It hadnt occurred to me to eliminate slugs at 0400; I will give it a try. Do you shine bright lights in their eyes to blind them and shoot them like rabbits ?
