As of today I can confirm that the 2015 Blackbushe Fly-in will be held on September 19th and 20th.
As you see, it will be a two day event, hopefully the first of what might develop into an annual event. For a long while I've been pushing to get something off the ground as Blackbushe has sorely missed any inclusion in the events calendars for too long.
It should be made clear that the weekend will be in aid of the wonderful charity work done by Aerobility, raising funds to support their operation. The Airport have agreed to free landings for all fly-in attendees.
Blackbushe Airport Ltd., Blink, and all the flying training schools are very much behind what will be a fly-in with 'added-value'.. Trade stands, raffles for some amazing prizes, and an air display on both days. The displays will be very much as put together for the 50th Anniversary, we're looking at a short display of perhaps 45 minutes. Not long enough to dominate the days, but enough to provide an additional hook to attract visitors by air. We have some novel ideas to 'add value' to the event, but the numbers of willing volunteers will dictate whether we go ahead with them..
Much more will be revealed in the fullness of time, but please keep the dates free. Two reasons. One, it is my earnest hope to bring in record numbers of visitors, two, we will need volunteers for a number of duties. Such duties can be discussed later, but you all know what running a fly-in involves. If not, come and find out!!
The year is not young, and there is much to do..in fact a great deal, but having now got the go ahead I - and the fly-in team - intend to do all possible to make the event a memorable one.
Hopefully the effort behind bringing you this forum will be rewarded by a good show of volunteers for 19&20 September?? Could I ask in the first instance for you to add your name to this thread as a potential volunteer, and if you have any particular experience add that too. Parking aeroplanes, for example..
The plan is to go forward with an annual event, but first we need to get back into the swing of things this year as we test the water amid the GA fraternity and willing volunteers...
I will post updates here as and when, but please just leave your name if you wish to join the volunteer team!
Many thanks
