Thanks guys for the updates etc.. the answer to the AN-2 must be to join their club and arrive at BB in style, Antonov style?
Let's get this year's event done and dusted before we look at the 75th.... At this moment in time there can be no mention of display flying at Blackbushe, we are in a sensitive area at a potentially decisive time. Rob, your application will be considered. The website will be added to on a regular basis...

I've tweeted Graham from the AN2 team and the only way they could possibly take the AN2 there would be to get a team of people together to pay for the flight, if i remember it would cost roughly £750 (not sure if that was both way though). I tweeted too, guess its a thirsty aeroplane, surprised they can keep it going at those prices though! Can't see that there would be the demand for 2 pleasure flying aircraft? Can I suggest we put all requests through Peter in future so we don't double up taking to people? rob

Am I right in thinking that we are relying on pilots turning up out of the goodness of their hearts or is there any money involved? Would be interested to know how many have booked for the fly-in? The website is contradictory saying 'Free landings for aircraft under 2500 kgs' and then 'The first fifty fly-in arrivals will enjoy free landings' ? I don't think you will get anybody paying the normal landing fees! Day off thinking about the air day tomorrow, going to old warden to drool over Chipmunks! Rob

Hi Peter..I agree with rj: keep the enquiries focused through you. Have you tried Dunkeswell and Gloucester? - both have some interesting vintage aircraft and , no doubt, some of the owners will be willing to exhibit their pride and joy. I expect Dunkeswell would prove the the best first choice; you can deal with everything through the ops office and the message will certainly be passed on. Gloucester is obviously bigger and a tad less personal - no harm in trying.

Hi guys
This thread was intended to report confirmed aircraft, "static display aircraft confirmed" but seems to have become a little more than that!! I trust that tomorrow you will not be "taking a day off from the Air Day" when in pursuit of Chipmunks at Old Warden. That is the time to sell the Air Day to all and sundry!
The Air Day has taken a vast amount of my time up to this point and looks like consuming a fair bit more. It has not been easy and many obstacles have had to be cleared, a process which took longer than I had hoped. I truly appreciate your aircraft suggestions, but to help retain my sanity could you provide some form of contact details with your suggestions where possible??
Note to Rob. The website states free landings for aircraft under 2500kgs, it also states that the first 50 will be entered into the free fuel draw. The fly-in has been limited to 50 aircraft by Blackbushe tower who feel that would be their limit. Not the decision of the Air Day team, we can but abide by their wishes.. All movements are strictly PPR and Blackbushe tower will cut off any PPR bookings that exceed the magic number of 50. The weight limit for fly-in participants was set at 2,500kgs being a nominal weight for light aircraft. All aircraft arriving for the static display will have free landings regardless of their weight. If you feel the website is misleading I can but pass your message to those who put it together. Landing fees apply to any other traffic of the day, ie commercial flights.
Further, you mention money. We have had to dig deep to cover the cost of facilities, marquees, toilets etc.. I am not going to go into who has paid what, but this year is as I've said before a trial run to see how things go with a view to possible bigger and better in the future, a future where a major sponsor would be looked for. Any contributions will be gratefully received, yes aircraft are coming mainly from the "goodness of pilots hearts" just as the Air Day team have given many hours from the goodness of their hearts... Perhaps where any of us have 'observations' to make they could be done via a PM to me rather than take up the "confirmed aircraft" thread.
If we had pots of money my job would have been like falling off a log, sadly is has not been...............
Thanks guys, all your inputs are appreciated...
