Dunkeswell was the only USN station in the UK during WW2. Liberators thereat were used on anti submarine duties. In regard to Liberator accident reports, this one provides interesting but sad reading: www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=f29ebb89396556803a03af3a4b68199e8e0eb4b581c72f9bb2c2545f08552ad0JmltdHM9MTY1MjYzODQ5MiZpZ3VpZD0yNzA0NDYyMC0wNjU0LTRiOTctYWM0Mi0xYTNkMTI0ZGIyYWEmaW5zaWQ9NTE0Nw&ptn=3&fclid=e9fe7d29-d47a-11ec-be85-5cae551ce40f&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cudmFuaXNoZWRsaXZlcy51ay9kb2NzdG9yZS8xMi5wZGY&ntb=1 Many years ago I cycled to the site from Merryfield in bad weather - not at all pleasant - when I resided on the Blackdown Hills. It is but a short distance, albeit steeply uphill, from Merryfield to the crash site. The report indicates the importance of following instrument take off procedures. This may work better! www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=f29ebb89396556803a03af3a4b68199e8e0eb4b581c72f9bb2c2545f08552ad0JmltdHM9MTY1MjYzODQ5MiZpZ3VpZD0yNzA0NDYyMC0wNjU0LTRiOTctYWM0Mi0xYTNkMTI0ZGIyYWEmaW5zaWQ9NTE0Nw&ptn=3&fclid=e9fe7d29-d47a-11ec-be85-5cae551ce40f&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cudmFuaXNoZWRsaXZlcy51ay9kb2NzdG9yZS8xMi5wZGY&ntb=1
