It is with very great sadness I have to advise that Stuart Marshall passed away peacefully last night. Stuart standing to the right of photo whilst Airport Manager in 1992 overlooking the Memorial plaque in 1992.The sad news was broken this afternoon by Sandra, his wife. Stuart had been ill for a considerable time. Many Blackbushe people will remember Stuart as Blackbushe Airport Manager for some years, but from a very young age he had always been a devotee of Blackbushe, and like many of us, he wished the Airport was able to be developed further. The Blackbushe Forum was launched back in 2015 when Stuart and I agreed that there should be a free and easy means for anyone to gather history and images of Blackbushe Airport and her history. Stuart wrote copious histories of aircraft that served Blackbushe, with these and the many photographs the Forum has displayed I hope we have gone some way toward achieving his wishes. Stuart's funeral will not be until after Christmas, details of which will be published here when known. Fly on in peace Stuart, you were a good friend... Peter.

Very sad news. A lovely, caring airport manager, and kind to his staff. It was a delight, an honour, and a privilege to work for him, and with him. My sincere condolences to Sandra and the family. Blue Skies JSM, Blackbushe will never forget you, and what you did for the airport. Blackbushe - JSM.pdf (447.75 KB)

I was shocked to receive the news of Stuarts passing. Stuart's contibutions to the Forum are of great interest and historical significance. He and I had several electronic conversations over the last few years. A truly kind and thoughtful man. Condolences to his wife and loved ones. RIP Stuart.

It is sad news, however not completely unexpected. JSM had been ill for several years and had been pretty much house bound for the last few years. He was such an intelligent and thoughtful person and sadly lockdown robbed me of further chances to see him and delve into his massive Blackbushe knowledge. It was always a treat to see him and Sandara, such great hosts. I hope in time some part of the new Blackbushe could bear his name, the 'Stuart Marshall memorial hangar' has a nice twang.

Great idea Rob! Would be fitting. Agree whole heartedly... Together with a few photos in the 'Pathfinder'. A longitudinal of EKLK's mangement/ownership history wouldn't go amiss in the 'Pathfinder, to boot.
