The momentum toward future battery powered flight continues to build up energy; This from UKGA.COM today...
Texas Aircraft developing an electric aircraft
The key airframe and power components will be manufactured in Brazil.
The aircraft will be designed and developed at the Texas Aircraft Manufacturing facility in Campinas, while the Li-S battery cells will be made at the OXIS factory in Juiz de Fora.
The companies involved in the project have high hopes for the performance of the aircraft, with regard to the technology of current electric powertrain systems.

OXIS projects that the eColt will have an endurance in excess of two hours and an approximate range of 200nm.
The use of sulphur – a non-conductive material – should both provide enhanced safety and prove more efficient than current lithium-ion technology.
Among other advantages, the eColt’s 90kWh battery is expected to be forty per cent lighter than the equivalent lithium-ion item.
