As I'd written in support of the application, I'd received by post the 17 page report by the Inspector. I've finally got around to reading it and I'm quite astonished that to a large extent the opposition to the de-registration from the Open Spaces Society was on the obscure legal grounds that the whole of the airport land couldn't possibly be deemed to be linked to the Terminal Building (the curtilage).
Local residents clearly aren't concerned any more, so a good result.

Spammers seem to be attracted to this part of the Forum.. They soon get the boot!
So far as the future is concerned the good news regarding the Planning Inspectorate's decision to approve the de-registration of the Airport's Common Land has been tempered by Hampshire County Council's inexplicable move in requesting a Judicial review to overturn the PI's conclusion.
Ever more extraordinary in that the County are facing expense cuts of £80,000,000 over the next two years, cuts that will require the shedding of 200 HCC staff, suffering for those under County care, and even turning off street lights to show how necessary these cuts are.. The County have blighted Blackbushe once again and in so doing thrown away the hopes of many new jobs at the revised Airport no to mention the increased revenue the Airport would pump into their economy...
The recent Blackbushe Airport Consultative Committee drew a bland answer on the subject from the County Councillor who made the effort to turn up, the other County Councillor on the Committee failed to show.
I, and others, have written to Hampshire County Council requesting an explanation for their senseless behaviour. Funnily enough, the only reply has been a brief note to say that the relevant staff are on holiday. My patience, and that of many others, is running thin.. Blackbushe has been dogged for decades by bureaucratic intervention, the time to blast the true story into the open must come soon?
The fact that Hampshire will not answer our very pertinent questions is indicative of what maybe influences from elsewhere?
It is highly regretted that after six decades of hope we are still faced with timeless hold ups where basically everybody loses...
