Yateley Community Facebook notification...
" Yateley Common Management Committee are meeting 15th August upstairs in the Tythings... (Off Reading Road, Yateley Green,). It seems very likely that the application by Blackbushe Airport to de-register their land as Common will be discussed".
..and also,
"If you have Common Rights, and/or you are interested in the application by Blackbushe Airport to de-register their land as Common Land then you might want to come along tomorrow [TONIGHT] evening.
Some comments from P Tipton, a Yateley resident with Common Rights: "I received a letter from the Commons Casework section of the Planning Inspectorate yesterday stating they had taken over the case. Basically the letter asked me whether i wished to speak so that PINS could gauge whether to hold a Public Hearing or Public Inquiry. Obviously I shall wish to speak as someone with Common Rights. It is very opportune that the Yateley Common Management Committee (YCMC) is to be held tomorrow night. I urge as many people in this group as possible to attend. We have to persuade the County Council to get off the fence and support us properly. They may well be intending to do this anyway, but in any case I am sure both the County and the Town Council will welcome as much public support as possible. If you have common rights please make every effort to be there."
Bit late to let you know, may see you there??

I too received a letter from the Planning Inspectorate asking if I wish to speak in the event of a Hearing or Public Inquiry in pursuit of the Airport's Common de-registration application...
Could be interesting!!

Sorry you couldn't make it Rob, you would not been run out of town, it was all quite agreeable, and I even gave your book another plug!! Last night's meeting was most interesting. Blackbushe Airport was well represented, became involved in the debate, and potentially useful discussions took place.. Further dialogue will be taking place!! I'll leave it at that for now...

Thats good Peter, glad it wasn't all one sided. There is a awful lot of scaremongering form a few locals about houses. If the AVM or DA were still with us they would get a awful sense of deja vu!

Thanks Bob. I'll try to keep members posted on developments. Last night's meeting may hopefully lead to a better understanding of each parties wishes. The Commoners and their heritage concerns, the Airport and its essential need to be allowed to develop. If not, a great local asset will turn to useless wasteland possibly attracting shall we say 'new' occupants.. I do feel that we could find "common" ground leading to progress. Don't want to jump the gun, but a harmonious understanding between the Airport and local population would be welcome. It was said by one influential Yateley voice that the best thing Blackbushe has done regarding integration with the local population was last year's 75th Anniversary show... That pleased me. And this wa a person who put banners up in Yateley protesting at the bid to de-register the Common. Absolutely NO objection to the airfield's expansion... Food for thought.
