It's 'common' knowledge that Blackbushe Airport applied to Hampshire County Council for the de-registration of 114 acres of the Common Land it occupies. An application made weeks ago, an Application without which the future development of the airfield is somewhat jeopardised.
It's also known that as Hampshire County Council could not make a decision on the Application it was duty bound to refer the case to the Government's Planning Inspectorate (PINS).. The County Council has seriously dragged its feet carrying out the necessary transfer to PINS.
Happily, the transfer has now happened, and Blackbushe can move forward to the next stage in the decades long struggle to build the necessary infrastucture that would see a new airport arise from the ashes of the old..
Onwards and upwards - hopefully??

I had a letter dated 13th August from the Planning Inspectorate advising they're considering if they need to have a public enquiry, based on the numbers of people who might want to attend. Bit of a catch 22, as without any details of where or when a public enquiry might be, if they were to hold one, it's a bit hard to say if I would attend!

To take a slightly more reasoned approach, it must be assumed that as the need for a Public Hearing or Inquiry has yet to be decided upon it would be premature to say where such a gathering would be held? I guess they are seeking in principal how many "fors" or "againsts" would be willing to speak in the event of such an Inquiry or Hearing?
The Planning Inspectorate will be pivotal in deciding the future of Blackbushe, perhaps we'd better not insult them at this point?
Thank you.
