Hi filair..a 1954 film based on the coach transfer of passengers from a foggy LAP to Blackbushe to facilitate a flight to Dublin (reference was also made to flights to Shannon departing Northolt. The plot involved a gold theft; there was considerable concern about not passing Basingstoke!?). No footage of Blackbushe but interesting to see Terence Alexander (TA) who played the co-pilot,Bill Dodds, to Captain Garry Halliday (played by Terence Longdon) in the BBC children's television series - 'Garry Halliday' - between 1959-62. I expect quite a few forum members remember 'The Voice' played by Elwyn Brook-Jones, Halliday's arch enemy. TA eventually ended up playing the part of Bergerac's ex father-in-law. A very foggy flick!

...I forgot to mention that the film is mentioned, inter alia, on page 45 of rj's recent work.

Saw the film originally with my parents whenn it was first released (about '53?) and it airs occasionally on telly (Ch 81 probably, I think they showed 'Out of the Clouds' recently). Living in Bucks like I did I had no idea the places mentioned like Blackbushe, Bagshot and Bisley would become part of my everyday life. Bit of poetic licence in the latter part of the film though with the action taking place in a disused pub on an army range - supposedly in the Deepcut/Pirbright conurbation; were there actually any places like that ie closed for wartime and never re-opened? We all know it happened at Imber on Salisbury Plain of course.
