Hi Is it worth considering working with Brooklands Musuem for a classic/vintage car show on the day and seeing if it's possible to see with they can display some off their aircraft at Blackbushe for the day? Maybe have a Napier or something charging down the runway for a run out?
Is it worth FAST musuem being involved as well? Yes it's part of farnborough airport, but surly they would have a variety of contacts plus worth having a display of history of both airports and flying in the area?
I've heard that the Remote control airshow has been cancelled this year at Blackbushe, is it worth looking at inviting a few of them along to do a static display and also maybe if allowed a short display?
Cheers

Thank you Neil, all excellent suggestions.
I'll keep you posted as to how things go..each has been considered. The R/C exhibits would be good but flying would be a definite "no" as we have a fly-in, pleasure flying, routine training with the flying schools and possible commercial flights in the bizz jet area.
Thanks again, keep the ideas coming!!

Is it worth having BBC Surrey FM and/or Eagle FM on the day broadcasting, would give the airport a good free advertisment

Couple of questions? Will the cafe still be open? Will Aerobility open their hanger for tours and info about what they do for the day? Will their be stalls? If so how about a blackbushe history stall plus sell blackbushe/Aerobility t-shirts, tops bear that type of thing to the public I have a few contacts with breweries, would it be considered having a local brewery have a beer tent ie Hogs Back, Ascot Ales or Andwells Would it be considered to have a range of mircolights on display from prop clear? Will their be fly-past's on the day? Will their be a range of helicopters? Will this be a family open day with a BBQ, bouncy castle, ice cream van plus face painting? Would it be worth contacting local air and army cadets plus scout groups to help out on the day? Would it be worth local MP Gerald Howarth and Yateley Mayor & cllr's attending on the day? Is it worth contacting local classic car and bike clubs for a display?
Cheers

Goodness....A 'couple' of questions!!!
Neil, you're a true One-Stop Forum scholar.
Today's been along day of meetings and subsequent writing minutes, reports, letters you name it, the work load is mounting.
Let's try and answer your questions..
Will the Cafe be open? Yes, as usual, plus catering will be on site by The Flying Duck offering a host of choices plus burgers!! Will Aerobility be open? Yes, the idea of the Air Day is in part an open day for the flying schools. Will there be stalls? yes. Beer tent? Interesting, tell me more.... It's Clear Prop and to date they have not shown any leaning toward the Air Day. They've still got time. Fly pasts? Considered but in view of the clamp on anything 'display' orientated I cannot say. The RAF make their own decisions..?? Range of helicopters? Yes. Family orientation? Yes. Family event really..chance to see aeroplanes close up, talk to the flying schools, enter competitions... Local Air cadets? ATC approach is in progress. If you have contacts in the cadet world I'm all ears.... MPs and Mayors? In hand Classic car clubs? Discussed in house, but again if you're in the know with contacts do speak.
Thanks Neil.... I'm going to be in far away places in just over a week. There is a mountain of work to do before I go luckily the Air day team are taking away lots of jobs.
The website will be live soon and then the flyers will be available too. I hope our Forum members will do all they can by running off flyers and getting them in as many airfields as they wish! Meanwhile I must get on with the rest of today's tasks.

One of the many tasks involved in the Air Day is attracting a variety of exhibitors. The fee will be either be very small or a donation to the Air Day charity supporting Aerobility.
While I have a reasonable list of prospects, if you guys wish to offer suggestions as to aviation orientated traders who might enjoy seeing a decent number of customers on 30 July - please add their names to this thread - we'll do the work on them!
Thanks PB
