Social media pages today included a question about movies with important sequences shot at Blackbushe Airport... Stirred the grey cell, but these came to mind!
Seems only right that they are recorded for posterity on the Blackbushe Forum!
1951.."No Highway in the Sky", Marlene Dietrich, James Stewart.
1955.."A Prize of Gold"
1954.."The Runaway Bus", Frankie Howerd, and Margaret Ruherford Link includes the full length movie, the name "Blackbushe" cropping up frequently!!
1957..The Crooked Sky" with Wayne Morris.
1963.."The Winstone Affair" with Robert Mitchum
1968.."Girl on a Motorcycle," with Marianne Faithful
1968.."The Gold Robbers" London Weekend TV Series, BAF Bristol Freighter and an Invicta Viscount flew in for this sequence! Shades of former years.
1969.."Mosquito Squadron" Mosquito attack on Minley Manor! I don't recall the Mossies landing, but they used up lots of Blackbushe airspace..
1969.."The Battle of Britain", opening sequence featuring two Hurricanes..
1979.."Hanover Street", Harrison Ford.....
1980.."Rough Cut" with Burt Reynolds
1981.."Eye of the Needle",with Donald Sutherland
2013.."Rush"
2014.. Jaguar advert filmed.
2015.."Don't Tell the Bride" BBC Television.
2016.."The Grand Tour" TV with Clarkson & Hammond
2016.. "Criminal", Kevin Kostener
2018.. "Jurasic Word, Fallen Kingdom"..
Movie directors better stake their claims on this great movie set, Blackbushe is not just a pretty face..

Thank you! 'Eye of the Needle' escaped this afternoon's input, Girl on a Motorcycle's being part shot at Blackbushe was new to me, or I'd totally forgotten!
Hopefully BB's motion picture history of interest?

PB "Girl on a Motorcycle" filmed on the N.W peri track which represented a motorway with big crash scene. Marianne (double) went through a car windscreen when the motorcycle she was riding hit a car - the car then burst into flames. Airport fire engine failed to put it out! Car was wanted for a retake -lots of red faces including mine! Stuart.

Nevil Shute's book 'No Highway' was published in 1948. The Comet 1's first flight was 27 July 1949; the first Comet structural failure crash was 2 May 1949 - I guess he was blessed with foresight!

No part of 'Hanover Street' was filmed at Blackbushe, this being the province of Bovingdon (my 'home' airfield - got my Gliding 'C' Certificate there in 1966). The aircraft were flown to Blackbushe in formation after filming finshed. I have seen a 1950s film (on Freeview 81) with a sequence of a car arriving at Blackbushe and driving past a Britavia Hermes; can't remember the title - it wasn't 'No Highway...'

That's a very good point!! Glad you pointed it out, although I was convinced that some location work was done here. My mistake? I guess there have been so many movie sequences shot here it's easy to get them back to front, as it were! Forums tend to solicit reponses to errors faster than anything else, always good to have a vigilant crew out there... The real stars of Hanover Steet, five B-25s, came to Blackbushe and were involved in subsequent movie sequences whilst here... Photos of the 'car arriving at Blackbushe' appeared on the Forum some while ago.. ...if this is it, all you've got to do is name it! Thanks PB
