Hi my dad György kapolna arrived in the UK from Vienna on 23rd December1956 he was a refugee. I know a lot of refugees arrived at Blackbushe but I don,t know if he landed here, I would love to find out, would there be any records anywhere of who arrived here? His flight was MIBOA AH 174 from Vienna Attachments:

Hi, thank you and great to hear from you.
I can fully understand your wish to know if your Dad arrived in the UK via Blackbushe. Such records I have not seen, but what I can do is make contact with some of the Hungarian refugees who attended the Airport's 75th Anniversary. I'll put the question to them and see if they can offer help or suggestions for you.
I'll get back to you as soon as I have any information.
Best wishes,
Peter

Hi julesk,
Further to your question regarding your Father Gyorgy, I have made contact with the Hungarian refugees. There are not so many left with us now, but they are being circulated with the details you gave me in hopes that someone may remember him.
As soon as I hear more I'll notify you.
Best wishes, Peter

Hello Morocho,
Since our last communication the Eagle Airways archive has been searched and no flight numbers matching the ones quoted have been found nor have details emerged that might have connection with the refugee flights back in 1956.
If anything comes to light subsequently we will advise you, but unfortunately at this time there is no further news we are able to offer you.
Best wishes,
PB

Hello, I’m really interested too as my father arrived through Blackbushe in 1956 too. I don’t have the flight details - I’m interested how to obtain this or any other information, and if there any people still alive who may remember him. He never really spoke about this time as I suspect it was too painful for him - he was 21 and never saw his parents (or presumably most of his friends) again. His name was Kardos Lajos and he went to Swindon and then to live in Grantham. Thank you!

Hello Ilona, Thank you for your message, I have not had contact with the Hungarian Refugees for some while now, but I will pass on your message in hopes that your father is remembered from 1956.
I wish you well and will contact again if and when any news is received.
Very best wishes, Peter
