Following the Government's Briefing from 10 Downing Street at 16.00 hrs today, Blackbushe Airport have issued the following statement....
Like all businesses, we are following the UK Government information closely, to ensure we continue to comply with applicable legislation, regulation, restrictions, and guidance.
On 19th December 2020 the Government announced that from 00:01 on Sunday 20th December both Berkshire and Surrey will be placed into Tier 4 (essentially a Lockdown). Blackbushe Airport is situated very close to the borders of Berkshire, Surrey, and Hampshire, but lies entirely within the administrative region of Hart District in Hampshire. Blackbushe Airport remains within Tier 2.
Blackbushe Airport will therefore remain available for any flights that are permitted under the regulations and guidance. However, we expect the volume of traffic to reduce, and so we may downgrade our service, or close at short notice.
CHECK WHICH TIER YOU ARE IN
We recognise that significant numbers of our users may live within Tier 4 areas. We re-iterate our request that nobody who lives in a Tier 3 or Tier 4 area visits Blackbushe Airport, except where permitted under the regulations.
AIRPORT OPENING HOURS
We have already published our Christmas opening hours. We will endeavour to remain available for any flight that wants to use us, and is permitted under the constantly changing regulations and guidance. However, given a significant number of our users will be unable to (or choosing not to) operate over the next few weeks, we may accordingly reduce our staffing levels or operate reduced hours.
AT THE AIRPORT
HANDS - FACE - SPACE
Hands: wash your hands regularly and for 20 seconds
Face: wear a face covering in indoor settings where social distancing may be difficult, and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet
Space: stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing face coverings)
Remember the rule of 6 applies in outside areas
Thank you all for your continued cooperation. Remember, act responsibly, and stay safe.
Merry Christmas to you all and your families.
It goes without saying that diligent application to these requirements is adhered to at all times!
Thanks
PB
