Thanks Bob, much appreciated, you've broken the ice! Absolutely agree the current 'vision' portrayed by today's owners of Blackbushe reflects the image hoped for - hopefully by all!
The question is how will the future be interpreted in law given the premise that Blackbushe is in an excellent geographic location and has the potential for a 'market leading' General Aviation terminal. I've just added another electric aeroplane's details in the Forum's "Non Blackbushe" news, the future looks certain to offer a broad choice of greener quieter aeroplanes very much playing to the advantage of Blackbushe which is already an example of environmental suitability!
Thanks Bob, hope you're well.. P

Hi guys, from a purely selfish point of view,I would like to see a screen either in the terminal building or even the cafe that shows arrivals for the day (complete with reggies) or shown on the official website, similar to what they have @ Shoreham.

Interesting idea David, but I should imagine some arrivals and departures would prefer to remain low profile. But, wouldn't it be good if EGLK became the first airport to accommodate new wave, green and sustainable energy aircraft. Who could possibly complain about noise, pollution, etc etc. Not only that, EGLK would provide succour to the impecunious HCC! A Win win result for all!

Hurrah..... Thanks for your points of view chaps! No new contributors though, there must be a few more good folk out there with points of view? The vociferous ones on the 'other side' who wish to see Blackbushe laid to waste land are never slow in coming forward when the chance arises........

Can't help but agree with the above about new green, energy sustaining aircraft and how it would be to Blackbushe's advantage and be a shot across HCC's bows. Any quieter form of air transport would surely mean it would be harder for HCC (and those who support that point of view) to continue with their objections.
But as we know HCC objections often go deeper and have an historical context (which often are totally ridiculous).
In the meantime the airport, from what I can see, continues to promote itself in the best way it can, has a warm and inviting feel for pilots, passengers, visitors and the enthusiasts. That impression should be encouraged to continue because it can only help the cause.
Other forms of promotion of the Airport's viability and importance such as Aerobility functions, fun runs, charity events, car meets would also serve as helpful to the cause but obviously have to fit in within the Airport's main function and operation.
The Airport obviously has great popularity with the general public. A couple of weekends ago I could barely find space to park the car. The cafe remains very popular and so playing to the general public should continue to be an important part of the vision. If it ever came to the situation that the Airport became a bit of a "closed shop" to visitors I think that would be disappointing. I see what's happening at Booker at the moment, with large fences being erected, and I rather despair. To the casual visitor that airfield and its restaurant used to be very popular.
The vision of a clean, vibrant, popular, friendly, helpful airfield that is sustainable in the 21st century and works in a commercially beneficial way and is environmentally friendly is surely not "pie in the sky". If only HCC and others would come to their senses as well!

Thanks Paul, excellent. I've been adding to the 'non Blackbushe news' section the latest gen as I find it regarding fascinating development of 'new energy' aeroplanes. As you concur, this development is great news for airfields such as Blackbushe.

Thanks Rocky14, POTD has ventured into this field on a number of occasions with photos of possible VTOL candidates to transform the meaning of catching a cab.. There is no doubt that changes are coming, eVTOL will appeal to the green society, their lack of sound will appeal to the environmentalists, their convenience will appeal to the business community. POTD's past comments are very much in line with your link, the spread of suitable catchment points will be decisive as to the acceptance, spread and success of flight's new appeal. With its easy access and location within a highly significant business population catchment Blackbushe might well be a prime point for accessing a rapid transit into the City.. If the Mayor of London is so averse to road traffic perhaps he could give thought to welcoming 21st Century travel innovations such as City eVTOL and naturally claim it to be his idea!!
