Mine was the summer of 1979 via Cessna 206 G-AYJU operated by Berrard Aviation from the bushe. Took off on runway 01 probably about a 1/2hr flight out towards Hook and Arborfield. I was 9 at the time and my dad and nan came with me. Since then several Cessna flights from the bushe and the rapide G-AHAG. Otherwise have flown is stuff from MI-2 and Mi-8 helicopters, An-2, Super Cub, Tiger Moth, microlights up to 747's.

My first flight from Blackbushe was in a Trislander G-AZZM of Jersey Ferry Airlines in the 1980s, very shortly before they went bust. I think the pilot was doing joyrides to make a little money! I'm old enough however to remember, as a schoolboy on holiday, Bostons and Mitchells flying around to the south of Wokingham in 1943 and 4. Had no idea there was an airfield just by the A30.

My first flight out of Blackbushe was with Douglas DC 6 G-APSA to Farnborough with Harold Bamberg. Julian firth was Capt. Although it was not my very first flight, that was with Overseas Aviation Gatwick which was a CofA flight in the Viking G-AGRW. We had removed the port wing for a fuel leak.

My first flight was in Dragon Rapide G-AGJG on a trip around the bay from Christchurch in the summer of 1959. It was my father's treat for my having survived O levels. It was good to see G-AGJG still active at Duxford last year.

SORRY - just re-read heading - should have stuck to Blackbushe, not elsewhere.
