Good work Mike! More than there is of anything in the airspace round home. Mind you, the clouds have rather spoiled the vertical view..

Got some spare time, want to brush up on your airliners? There once was a time when you could recognise an aeroplane by its shape, but not so much nowadays as the computer designed perfect aerodynamics tend to follow a theme. The 1957 Shell spotters book link has been sent one of our members who will be familiar with aeroplanes of the era.. Try clicking here www.steemrok.com/KYAnv2.html

..and if you've still got time on your hands, pop over to the Forum's "All Party Parliamentary Group on General Aviation" section. They have just written to the CAA takng them to task over producing confusing and over verbose Corona virus messages to the General Aviation fraternity. This link blackbusheairport.proboards.com/post/13486 will take you straight there where the APPG comments are laid down plus a link to the letter sent to the CAA.. PB

The courageous Captain Tom Moore with a 100th birthday on 30 April has just raised £18,000,000 (maybe more now?) for the NHS by walking laps of his garden. 800,000 (maybe more now?) have donated to his magnificent contribution. Sadly, the handling agency will be taking over £2,000,000 in fees, maybe they could be encouraged to reconsider their percentage? Meanwhile, I understand the Heritage Hangar at Biggin Hill have been given the OK to give him a birthday flypast on 30th April. I also understand that the Memorial Flight might partake of his Bedfordshire air too, and the Red Arrows have been approached regarding a similar gesture. A proud time for Tom, the NHS, and all who have come together to work as one and show that Britain can still be Great!

Peter - I'm not sure who the 'handling agency' you mention is
- if you mean 'Justgiving', who provide the software platform (and a very clever, stable and effective one it is - requiring considerable technical expertise and resource) that this appeal runs on, their charges are openly published and are nowhere near that level (and I am led to understand that they have donated £100,000 themselves apart from considerable behind the scenes support).
- if you mean 'NHS Charities Together', I'd like to know the source and investigate further as there is no policy on funding disclosed on their website (and certainly a >10% diversion would be concerning).
... and incidentally it's through £20 million now (it appears Capt Tom knows no limits).
My vote is clearly for a Knighthood and mini Air Tatoo !!
