Hi Avioligist,
The above is of great interest to me as I was there too when the Sea Hawk crashed. I still think of how lucky I was not to be under it when it arrived!!! Having mislaid my log books from that day (well it was a long time ago) do you by any chance have a record of any of the airliners that were there that day? Would be most interested in that too for the history records. Perhaps you could pm me if you can help. Thanks Stuart.

Hi Flyboy, I do have a record of airliners seen but is currently stored due to house extension work. Will look it out and forward on in due course. Aviologist

Aviologist,
That would be great. Thanks in advance. Currently working on the DC-4 series so am fully employed! Good luck with the extension. Stuart.

From memory it was a dc-4/c-54 of Portugal AF that was parked by terminal when seahawk arrived. Personnel were unsure which way to move as ejector seat popped, and the same feeling for my friend and myself. We stood rooted to the spot as it went over to the south side!

aviologist Fantastic memory, you are quite correct it was on that day, as I noted having extracted myself from under the nearest car - it was the nearest protection (head and shoulders only!) on offer when the Sea Hawk was on it's way down right above me. I well remember that day! Stuart.

Many thanks aviologist I have added the Starways DC4/C54 G-APIN to the list I am currently working on. Just shows how those hidden gems in the old logbooks can help to fill in the missing gaps and complete the story .......well nearly complete!!!!! By the way the DC4/C54 visitor list should be in the "Blackbushe Past" history sub section very shortly. Many thanks again. Stuart
