Methinks CAA would insist on real ATCOs using such things... and justifiably. Oh yes, then there's the cost. Well for a start, it would only be used for ensuring pilots have the correct transponder code set (officially); I think the Area FISOs at LATCC are allowed to do this. On the grounds it would benefit TAG by causing less delays and reducing co-ordination, I think the cost could be borne by TAG/NATS Farnborough. Oh and no, an SBS or similar wouldn't be sufficient as less than 50% of our aircraft carry mode S transponders; probably the same at Blackbushe. The Stormscope people were developing a radar display which worked on modes A/C back in the early 90s; don't know if it ever went into production

Sunday 8 March 10.00 Whatever problem existed with Proboards, it appears to have been fixed as I have uploaded a test picture and it worked fine.

Thanks Bren, I am totally lost when its anything 'techy' but Peter told me the problem is/was to do with loading speed - ProBoards have a problem and those that are affected - not everyone - will just have to wait until its fixed. Maybe that's happened by now , lets hope so. He is away today so there's no way to find out but the pictures will return just as soon as possible, I can assure you on his behalf. Stuart.

You must think what you wish Bren but I can assure you that both Peter and myself won't rest until the pics are once more back on your screen, but I agree it's an odd feeling not to have anything new to look at each morning. Proboards are now blaming Virgin and are waiting for them to fix the problem. Stuart

Maybe the owner of a certain other proboards website has sabotaged it.

chevron/controller
From what I am told that other website has the same problem and is also waiting for a fix and controller/Bren I am afraid this is even beyond Simon - its something has gone wrong at Virgin Media. Fingers crossed it will be fixed soon, we are going nuts this end. Stuart

Not sure if this has been flagged before if so I apologies for repetition. A lovely clip in colour of boarding and take off with an Eagle Viking. The sub title below the clip suggests possibly the hallowed turf of Blackbushe, but I think the large concrete apron says otherwise. Happy to be proved wrong by others with better knowledge of the 50's layout. The tree line looks convincing though. The Wattishams Hunters are apt as I now live less then four miles from this famous WW2 airfield.
