Just wondering if there are any photos (taken at Blackbushe) of a Beagle Terrier G-ASCD. I did a fair number of hours on it including a trip to an air rally at a nice field called Amougies in Belgium. On the way back I managed to ground loop it at Ostend. That was in 1971. Also are there any of the Blackbushe airshow on 29th August 1971. My log book shows that I flew from Blackbushe to Thorney Island to pick up the commentator for an RAF display team. Later that day I did two flights for a parachute display team in the show.

A search through my colour photos has yielded the occasional Terrier but sadly none of G-ASCD. I'll start on the black and white collection soonest.. The ground loop was not an unusual event with the old tail draggers, the experience nonetheless disconcerting whilst it's going on! You must be referring to a Barn Stormers Show back in 1971; an RAF Andover was involved hence the need to visit Thorney Island, it being Transport Command's hang out back then. Funnily enough, that must be the one show I missed? I'll try and find photos from my collection, but I was away in Wales on holiday..I tried to get down to Blackbushe for the show but time and distance would not permit from what remains in memory. Have you tried Facebook's "Blackbushe Airport Then & Now" Group? Some avid spotters hang out there, maybe SCD is in their grip? Bear with me, if I find any pics I'll attach them here. Take care, PB

The point oft made in POTD is that the apron was considerably reduced in size by the local council. However, looking at the empty apron many times of late I wonder what it might be used for had it retained its original size?

Today's POTD shots, in monochrome, are excellent, pure nostalgia. Thanks to Paul for his pics of recent movements - interesting angles, very effective.
