Thanks for the comments, A30yoy you have to be a bit careful with that seller as that Mercator is not at Blackbushe. These all seem to come from one large collection and I think the originator purchased photos from other and wrote on the back where he saw them. There have been a couple that were efficiently taken at Northolt listed as Blackbushe. But apart from that the seller has some great stuff. I hope these photos show what a vibrant place Blackbushe was in the 1950's and before. here are a few more from the same source 128425 Douglas R6D seen 6/9/59 from squadron VR-1, the squadron was based at Patuxent River, near Washington DC and was the main transatlantic and visited a couple of times a week. The R6D replaced the Constellations in 1957. This aircraft served until the mid 70's before being broken up 131568 was seen on 12/10/57 and from VR-22 and named 'city of Jacksonville' and based at Norfolk ,Virginia, these were regulars during 1957/58. This photo would have been taken from the side of the A30 as the aircraft trundles towards a 08 departure. There was nothing to stop any motorist from casually stopping for a photo on the A30 and not a fence in sight, the area behind is now the car auctions. going on to the mighty Neptune we have 128331 a P2V-5F of squadron VP-24 also taxing for a 06 departure on 6/9/59. This aircraft first visited in May 59 and then in each month until September and would have been on temporary deployment from the Mediterranean seen here is almost brand new P2V-5 135556 from VP-18 seen here 7/9/55, not seen may photos of Neptunes on the main ramp and this one is obviously of some interest

Mercator removed...yes that seller had a cracker of a C-121 landing over the traffic lights at Northolt...pity the RT bus wasn't fully featured :-)
Beggars can't be choosers, though

Tiem for soem more photos, most of these would have been seen on the old board... Today we have some of Vickers finest the Viking. Only Airwork could afford to buy new Vikings in 1946/7 and the other Blackbushe operators had to wait until BEA replaced theirs with Viscounts after only around 2 years service, imaging that now a days! G-AHOY of Pegasus is the first example seen parked southside, it only served with BEA from 46-48 then went to Fields before going to Hunting Clan. It was then purchased by Orion, or at least its owner,Cyril Clayton who owned it from 1958-65, in 1965 it went to Invicta at Manston and would have been one of the final flying Vikings when WFU in 1968, after 22 years service. G-AHOR again had a short life with BEA and then served with Transworld air charter, and Crewsair. This was one of the aircraft purchased by Eagle and the disposed of a few months later as they did not think the Viking suitable as a dakota. It then went to Airwork from 53-55 before becoming ZS-DNU until 58 when Air Safarais brought it back from Africa before it crashed in 1960. G-AHOT took the same route as G-AHOR but this time Eagle sold the aircraft to Trek Airways as ZS-DKH, the aircraft made its last flight in 1962 and became a attraction on top of a garage until swapped for a Shackleton in 1987 and going to the South African Airways museum and has been in store ever since. Another globe trotting viking was D-AEDA from the delightley named Dr Triggs-Fharten. This started life as ZS-BNK before going to BEA as G-AMNJ in 1951, in 1955 it became D-CEDA then D-AEDA, then it was sold to France as F-BPIT in 1959 being WFU in 1964. german Vikings visited mostly for maintenance and on some charters.
