Hello Neil,
Thank you for your question. Work goes on at a pace to ensure the Blackbushe 75th is a great success.
I am not going to give a long display list and then at some point in the future have to come back and say that this one or that one has been cancelled. We live in a very different air display age in 2017 to any previously known.
The list of aircraft currently 'booked' is extensive, from small to large, but the situation remains that until the UK's Flying Display Directors (FDD's) have been accredited by the CAA over the coming weeks I understand there are no air displays in the UK this year that are currently 'approved'. All FDD's have to be retrained and pass the CAA's capability tests before they can get back to work approving and guiding air display operations around the UK. Their role this year has to be far more 'draconian' than ever before..
I apologise for not being able to give you a definitive answer Neil, I wish I could...another couple of weeks and things should become clearer, but I can say that our list of 'proposed' participants has reached twenty-five from private, military, and corporate backgrounds. We will have a great weekend, but there are strategic local considerations that will define what we can finally do in the air....cannot say more until the knot is tied. It soon will be!
Regards Peter B

Thank you very much Airnautic. Crowd control and car parking will be under contractor control this year with military manpower deployed as necessary, so car parking will not be the volunteer dependent beast as it was last year...however, volunteers may be enlisted to assist the contractors if necesary. Ramp control also under management of company managing our CAA/flying matters. There will be volunteer briefing meeting prior to the event. Come the days, volunteer refreshments will be available and on the Saturday night perhaps some evening entertainment plus a bit of a "gathering" for aircrew and volunteers. Should be fun!
Further to previous suggestions regarding transport from Blackwater/The Meadows... Running our British Airways buses from the Meadows might (would) create political shockwaves amid the operators who have rights for use of their buses at the M&S/Tesco site. We are looking at minibus operations and are waiting for responses from operators who might wish to provide a service from Blackwater Station.

Update for all volunteers.
I'm passing your details over to the relevant departments looking after and detailing our brave volunteers... I'm hopeful that the forum will still yield some more names, but all those on the front page of this thread will be getting their 'call up' papers in due course.
Duties will be varied, carefully allocated and rostered so you won't be bogged down in one place or all day. You may well be assisting the military, scanning tickets, crowd control..numerous opportunities. You will be fed and watered and on Saturday be our guests at the "do" for yourselves and visiting air crews. Most likely a hog roast and maybe something happening in the air too. .. Should be lots of fun and make your volunteering something you'll be glad you did!!
Just to let you know your details will be passed on amid our growing organisation!

Ok for me the only problem is going to be getting there... I know you have a taxi service running but being on benefits I really can't afford a bus and taxi to get there... was hoping something cheap would run between The Meadows and the airport. Remember I can't do all day as well... I have ME/CFS and when I worked for Classic Flight in Coventry I used to have a sit down job usually booking people onto pleasure flights and leave at about 3... and I also had my own car but someone took the front off my car a few years ago Kriss
