The thing that makes the 1947-60 era at Blackbushe so exciting is the mix between the WW2 era aircraft and the new jet and turbo prop technologies. M
any of the WW2 era aircraft lasted into the mid 50's before replacement.
The Bristol Beaufighter was the RAF's first twin engined fighter/bomber to go into service in large numbers. The aircraft was used mostly in the anto shipping and night fighter role.
Post WW2 surplus aircraft were sold abroad in small numbers to Turkey and The Dominician Republic.

The de Havilland Mosquito was very much the first multi role combat aircraft. First postwar Mosquitos to visit were those ferried to Turkey by Britavia. There were many more delivered to Turkey than those
below but not all of them tranited Blackbushe. Israel had long tried to aquire Mosquitos but there had long been a arms embargo in place but a changing middle East political climate and ment the embargo was lifited.
The civil Mosquitos were used in aerial mapping roles, mostly looking for oil in the Middle East.
