B25 already declared incorrect above.
Wing end doesn't look elliptical enough for Dak, but perspex distortion making it difficult to judge!
Some flap extended - to stay slow in formation with the Harvard?
Assuming it's an ex Warbirds of GB machine, I will go far He111, but really not sure?!

Many thanks to all our above contestants and noble attempts to identify the mystery ship. Sorry, nobody close, but interesting to see the suggestions. If I didn't know what the wing belonged to I'd not have a clue. But, I'll give you a clue. That's Texas soil down there...think I mentioned it has nothing to do with Blackbushe, and the type never visited - ever. Remember I said distortion in the photo due to the perspex bubble.. ?

Photo taken in Texas (Harlingen area?). Type never visited Blackbushe so that rules out all the above plus A20/Boston, A26 Invader, B17 Flying Fortress leaving B24 Liberator as a possibility.

Good moves Chevvron, but not good enough!! The airfield from whence the sortie originated was Midland, Texas.... Your rulings out were very accurate! Actually, it should have been a B-24 but she went sick so had to drag out a replacement.
