Two interesting pics - one which might be inside the tower (I don't know as I have never been there) and the other - long straight room - has me puzzled. Any clues please? Names of those in the Tower would be interesting. The chap on the right looks like Reg Gregory's great grandson??

The long straight room was the commentary box at the 75th (looks like Peter Teichmann being interviewed).
The other one you mentioned is the Tower (visited many times during my flying years at EGLK). Can only help with Jamie (Eagles) on the left in terms of names.

OK thanks. I visited the old tower during my incarceration but none of those in the pics were there then

Just for the record today's "POTD" was the 1,001st edition.... Hopefully it will continue to give glimpses of the past for a while longer, I know at least four members still enjoy its content!!
As "Ex" has said, the long and elevated room is the event commentary box, the self same used for the Blackbushe Air Day in 2016.
As for the gents in the Tower photo, Jamie on the left is well known to many - he departed Blackbushe quite recently in search of pastures new. The rest of the men in navy are all Tower staff while the person wearing an 'igh viz is our fantastic Flying Display Director who nobly stood in at the 11th hour to fill a sudden FDD vacancy....Therein lies a complex story that I won't venture into now!
Before the 1,002nd edition of POTD is created, once again Happy New Year to all...
