A few memories from my youth here. I grew up in Reading and my first visit to any airport was Blackbushe in 1976. My was is still a spotter but he only had a motorbike so had to wait until I was big enough to really go anywhere. Did attend the 77 airshow via a bus to Yateley and a long walk! From 78 we visited at least every third weekend as long as the weather was good. The place had much more of interest back then not only the warbirds but also visitors and the Islanders. G-BFPW C-47, arrived in 1978 ex T.3-40 later exported to the US as N3753N and scraped in Kansas c2000 G-BECL Casa 352L built in 1952 T.2B-212 for the Spanish Air Force and is now F-AZJU, this was one of 2 IIRC painted up in Luftwaffe markings? the bosses Spitfire G-BAUP, I only saw this once before it was exported in 1977, now in Canada The Comet showed just how deceptively big the apron is , arrived in 1981, initally parked by the A30 then by the terminal. Nother ever happened to it and is was scraped in 1986 when Doug Arnold sold up. bring us up to the BCA era is their Beech 200 G-IBCA delivered in late 1985 and sold in 1988 still aroung as G-FRYI

When Concorde came to Blackbushe!! I came across the following very poor images whilst sorting through some old photographs and thought that they deserve to be published. I understand that the flypast by a Concorde at Blackbushe was connected with the purchase of the car auctions by BCA sometime in 1987.
