Hi Peter I'll be joining you tonight. Sorry for the late response but it was only this morning that I knew I would be free on Saturday. Dave

Can't make this evening Peter I'm afraid as I've just got home from work, but happy to do whatever I can to help on Saturday. Keith "keefyboy" from Chippenham will be travelling up with me and we hope to be in the BCA carpark by 8.30 latest

A very positive air day briefing, good to see some many there. One thing I would say is for those of us who are photographer volunteers could we have some access to the aircraft park between it being closed to the public and the aircraft departing, even 10-15 min would be nice for some clear shots. How many voulteers are photographers? Rob

Volunteer briefing 27 July....
A quick word of most sincere thanks to all our wonderful forum members who attended this evening's briefing.
We are treading new ground together, and it is only with you and all our volunteers that the Air Day will stand, or fall.. It was wonderful to put faces to names, and with my face it may not have been so wonderful putting a name to it? Anyway, we're going to make Saturday a great day for Blackbushe, and great day for each other. Rob has been tasked with the weather and he seemed confident enough tonight.
Thank you especially to Malcolm for all he has done in providing 'kit' for the day, and Laura who has proven to be a miracle worker..
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday, or Friday for those who can make it. We'll soon know if the long journey to 30 July has been worth it, with all of you I'm confident it will have been!!
Thanks again ... PB
PS re photography I'm sure we can sort you out, it's the least we can do!!

Morning Peter, I received the volunteer briefing from Laura but can find no mention on the list for fellow AFA-er Keith who will be travelling up with me from Wiltshire. Naturally, he won't be able to head for home until I've finished whatever jobs I'm doing tomorrow so could you advise please? Thanks

Hi Graham
Sorry I could not reply earlier..been in hospital with a suspected heart attack for 18 hours. Happily it was a heart control problem and no lasting damage. Happened at Blackbushe and happily this afternoon I was able to go direct to BB from hospital to resume operations!!
I would say that although teams have produced from our volunteer bank, the more we have the easier it will be on all within the teams
All who are able to attend and volunteer are more than welcome.. I'm sure it will be great fun!
Look fwd to seeing you on 30/7
Peter

Morning Peter, hope you are OK and recovering but of course, I saw you briefly yesterday at the show to say "hello" so I'm guessing all is now fine. I did hear back from Laura who added Keith to the volunteer list so all's well that ends well.

Graham!! So sorry I didn't get a chance for a decent chat, but yes thank you, luckily the problems last Thursday afternoon were not as serious as thought possible. It was most frustrating being stuck in a hospital emergency unit with the Air Day a heart beat away. I stressed to the doctors that I HAD to get out to the airfield for one's event but such pleas were greeted with pursed lips and slow shaking of lips. "Most unlikely". That amused me little!! Anyway, apart from ongoing tests the major hurdles were jumped over and was back on the 'field by lunch time Friday. Having got to the day I'm sorry I missed talking to you, it was quite busy.
All is history now, I'm doing devious planning for the next show using yesterday as the learning curve for all the team...hatched some ideas this morning that could be the basis of something much larger.
Watch this space.
Hope we can catch up soon Graham,
Take care Peter
